World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is observed globally on June 15th to voice opposition to the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older populations. Originally established in 2006 by the International Network for the Prevention of Elder Abuse (INPEA), it is officially recognized by the United Nations and represented by the colour purple.
