The Birth of the Báb will be celebrated on November 2, 2024. The Báb's birth is one of the Twin Holy Birthdays, which are celebrated on two consecutive days each year. The other Twin Holy Birthday is the birth of Bahá'u'lláh, which will be celebrated on November 3, 2024.
The Universal House of Justice decides whether to celebrate the Twin Holy Birthdays in the solar or lunar calendar. In 2015, the Universal House of Justice decided to celebrate the Twin Holy Birthdays on the first and second days following the eighth new moon after Naw-Rúz.
Bahá'ís celebrate the Twin Holy Birthdays by:
- Gathering in communities
- Sharing prayers
- Rejoicing together
- Abstaining from work
- Reading devotional materials
- Listening to music
The Báb's birth is considered to have paved the way for the incarnation of Bahá'u'lláh, similar to the relationship between John the Baptist and Jesus Christ.
